Survey on hair loss in U.S reveals that above 57 million people has baldness to some degree. The hair loss in the head’s top area is called as pattern baldness. Androgenic alopecia is the medical name given to pattern baldness since it is related to the androgenic hormone which is the testosterone. In mild cases this causes the occurrence of oval shaped bald spots and in more severe cases it results in total scalp loss and body hair.

Treatments to hair loss
There are many treatment methods for hair loss. Intake of certain drugs can control the hair loss and enable hair growth. One such drug is rogaine or min-oxidil. This drug is actually employed in decreasing the high blood pressure. This drug is known to enhance the growth of new hair in some cases but in most cases it slows down the rate of hair loss.

The other treatment procedure is the hair transplantation. These hair transplants shift follicles of hair from area of hairy region to the bald area of the patient. Suturing process on pieces of hair is also used to tackle hair loss. But this procedure is often dangerous and can cause infection and scarring in the scalp. Practices such as the use of conditioners along with shampoo are quite helpful in healthy growth of hair and also make the hair thick and strong. This prevents the hair fall.
