Socio Economic Development and Healthcare

Health care has been used as an indicator of quality of life and social well being in various societies the welfare states come to know the effectiveness of their services by the help of this indicator. The socio economic development of a country depends upon the basic facilities it provides to its nationals. The prosperity of people and the revenue in the hand of government determines the success of a state. Mostly the failed states fail to provide proper medication, food and education facilities for its citizens. So the health care is rated high while socio economic development is analyzed by the experts.

The low cost and the quality of services available for public are also observed in this regard. The health care services involve the hospices, nursing homes, clinics, nursing staff, doctors, research, health education, pharmaceutical services and other health related professions. The quality as well as the quantity of the services must be ensured in order to make a country improve its international ranking. The developed countries have managed to provide excellent health care facilities to their citizens at relatively reasonable cost. No one compromises in this matter, neither the patients nor the hospital staff. The social workers can play a vital role in making things fixed in the developing countries. But again the system and recognition of social workers is very limited in such countries. The advancement of health science research and innovations in this regard are considered as an important thing for considering a country improving its socio economic status. In some European countries the health care service like hospitalization and medication are extremely expensive. This makes its citizens spend more on the health care.

But in United States of America people spend more on consumer items like food and luxuries. The medication is not so expensive in United States of America. Moreover, the Canadian state provides health care facilities on cheap rates to all its nationals which helps keep it a good quality of life. People find more to spend on other needs of life. Hence life is prosperous in such countries. The developing countries do have the government hospitals where the treatment of poor is done free of cost till certain limit but the quality of health care services is miserable. The cleanliness of environment and water is also an important issue of developing countries. But the people are unaware of these issues as they are trapped in low quality life and social problems.
